1975 VW EV Beetle

PROPULSION: 
Tesla Model X SDU rear motor Water cooled via 12v water pump and 12 v fan through radiator rear driver side. Temperature controlled through T2C motor controller. Quaife LSD diff inside Tesla SDU. Direct drive from Tesla axles to VW CV joints at stub axle end (Type 3 CV’s) motor at 40% output. New Porsche 930 CV kit to go in soon to allow 100% power output. No gear box. No gears just forward and reverse dial on dash EV Controls T2C Tesla motor controller that communicates via CAN and Blue toothed to iPad display. No traction control at this stage.

BATTERIES:
16x CALB (Lithium) 6p2c batteries 24v each wired in series to have a nominal voltage to the motor through contactors at 400v DC. Very similar to battery modules in a modern Polestar.
All batteries have water cooling plates between each battery pack. Water is pumped through 12v water pumps. 4x separate water cooled circuits throughout car. Two in rear for rear 10 batteries, other for Tesla motor and internal inverter.
6x batteries in front where old fuel tank was. Other 10 batteries in rear parcel shelf area. Orion 2 BMS controls the 96 cells and continuously monitors voltages, Amps in and out of battery pack and individual cell temperatures.

CHARGING:
Ovar 6.6Kw water cooled charger. This is also the DCDC charger to the 12v OEM led acid battery to power all the OEM lights and control circuitry. Tesla Re-generation charging through Tesla motor. Acts as a generator when you are not accelerating and also acts as an engine brake that allows you to drive with one foot. Can be adjusted via the iPad display through T2C App.
